Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 July 2026
This policy explains what information is collected when you use be-useful.co.uk ("this site") and how it is used. This site is operated by Be Useful, a UK-based independent software studio ("we", "us"). It applies to this website only — our individual products have their own terms and privacy arrangements agreed with their customers.
What we collect
- Contact form: when you send a message we collect the name, email address and message you provide, so we can reply. If you have used the chat assistant, the chat transcript may be attached to help us understand your question.
- Chat assistant: messages you type into the chat widget are sent to our server and processed by an AI model running on Cloudflare's Workers AI platform to generate a reply. Chat conversations are not linked to your identity unless you choose to include personal details.
- Technical data: like nearly all websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request data such as IP addresses for security, abuse prevention and rate limiting. We use your IP address transiently to apply a daily chat usage limit; this counter is deleted automatically within 24 hours.
What we don't do
- We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. This site sets no cookies at all.
- We do not sell, rent or share your information with third parties for marketing.
- We do not use your messages to train AI models.
How your data is stored
Contact form submissions are stored securely on Cloudflare's infrastructure and forwarded by email to us so we can respond. We keep messages only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up.
Lawful basis
We process the information you send us on the basis of legitimate interest (responding to your enquiry) or, where relevant, in preparation for a contract with you (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)).
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction and erasure. To exercise any of these, use the contact form on the home page and we will respond promptly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above.
